Shillong, Sep 10: In continuation with its policy of restarting various activities in the state, the Meghalaya government has given the go-ahead for football training to take place from Saturday onwards.
Sports clubs and associations that wish to begin football training must submit an undertaking to their respective Deputy Commissioner, confirming their adherence to the standard operating procedures issued by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, and obtain permission from the DC before beginning. They must also maintain social distancing protocols issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department.
“Deputy Commissioners shall check and verify adherence to all the guidelines and protocols,” an order dated today and signed by Chief Secretary MS Rao said. DCs will also “ensure strict compliance to these guidelines through periodic inspections and regulate the location, schedule and timing of practice sessions depending on the local situation and to meet the social distancing norms.”
