Shillong, Dec 20: The Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-15 Inter District Tournament began today with four matches divided between two venues.

There are two zones in the T20 competition – Nongkhrah, Nongpoh, in Ri-Bhoi and Mendipathar in North Garo Hills.

Zone 1 comprises the Shillong Cricket Association, East Khasi Hills Cricket Association, East Jaintia Cricket Association, All Jaintia Cricket Association and Ri-Bhoi Cricket Association.

Zone 2 comprises Tura District Cricket Association, North Garo Hills Cricket Association, East Garo Hills Cricket Association and West Khasi Hills Cricket Association.

In Zone 2, North Garo Hills won the toss today and chose to field first. East Garo Hills set their opponents a target of 122 to win but NGH were restricted to 106. The man-of-the-match was Paisal Ali, who took three wickets. The second match saw Tura bat first after winning the toss. They posted 153 and dismissed West Khasi Hills for 31, with Harsid Prasad the man-of-the-match for scoring 57 runs and taking three wickets.

In Zone 1, East Khasi Hill won the toss and opted to bat first but were skittled for 62, with Vinit Patel taking 4/6 for East Jaintia, who then chased down the target with nine wickets and 5.1 overs to spare. The second match then saw Shillong put in to bat first by All Jaintia and they posted 175/6 in 20 overs, with Krishnav Choudhary top-scoring with 45. In response, AJCA were restricted to 100/8, despite Maremdor Sutnga’s 39. Angkit Tamang took 3/19 for the SCA.
