Shillong, Mar 26: Fragrancy Riwan and Sanfida Nongrum (third and fourth right) will represent Delhi in the Senior Women’s National Football Championship, which began yesterday.
Unfortunately, there will be no Meghalaya state team taking part in the Senior Women’s NFC this year.
Though hailing from Meghalaya, the pair are now registered with Football Delhi as they both play for the club Garhwal FC, thus making them eligible to play for the Delhi team.
Such a rule also allowed Kitboklang Khyriem to take part in the recent Santosh Trophy for Delhi too.
Both Riwan and Nongrum have played for Meghalaya before and the two joined Garhwal last year. Nongrum has also previously appeared for Bangalore United FC and Sirvodem SC of Goa.
Delhi will be involved in their first match of the Senior Women’s NFC today against Ladakh.
