Shillong, May 21: Rajasthan United FC have confirmed the signing of defender Kynsailang Khongsit from Shillong Lajong FC.
Kynsailang, who was widely rumoured to be making the move, has committed to the club for two years, Rajasthan United said on social media over the weekend.
The 24-year-old from Tyrsad also featured in a short video the club shared online wherein he said that he was excited to join the Rajasthan United family and promised to give his best on the pitch.
Kynsailang has played in 100 I-League matches across two clubs. He made his I-League debut for Lajong in 2017-18 and also featured for Kenkre in 2021-22 and 2022-23. Lajong regained promotion to the I-League for the next season and Kynsailang rejoined his old club.
In between, he had also been signed by Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC but he was never able to break through to the senior team, instead featuring a handful of times for the reserves.
A regular for SLFC, Kynsailang played in every one of the club’s I-League 2023-24 matches and 20 out of 22 in 2024-25. He will bring a wealth of experience to Rajasthan United, who finished a decent fifth this past season compared to the 11th position they secured the year before.
