Shillong, Jan 21: Meghalaya won a thrilling Group A fixture of the Women’s U-23 T20 League by four wickets and with two balls to spare over North East rivals Manipur in Kochi today.
It was a fine result that also coincides with Meghalaya Day.
Meghalaya won the toss and chose to field and they were able to restrict Manipur to 103/6 in their 20 overs.
Debasmita Dutta bowled four wonderful overs and took 2/2. Daiaka Warjri (1/22), S Jaba (1/22), and Hajong (1/23) claimed a wicket each.
In the chase Dutta was the mainstay, finishing on 39 not out off 33 deliveries, while L Tamang also contributed a helpful 19 as Meghalaya reached 105/6 in 19.4 overs.
Meghalaya will next face Uttar Pradesh on 23rd January.
