Shillong, Feb 7: Umthli Secondary School, Umthli SC and the Dorbar Shnong of Umthli have expressed their best wishes for three students of the school – (from left) Sanfida Nongrum, Wandashisha Marwein, Nisilia Majaw – as they take part in the Karnataka Women’s Super Division Football League, which will begin on Monday.
Nongrum will be playing for Bangalore United Football Club, last season’s runners-up, while Marwein and Majaw will both represent Rebels Women’s FC.
“We would like to extend our hearty congratulations to our students for being selected in the Karnataka Women’s League,” a statement from the school, sports club and Dorbar said today. “We appreciate your hard work and perseverance as you all have set a good example for the upcoming youth, you all have made us proud. Once again we all would like to congratulate you, and our good wishes for your success in future.”
A total of 10 teams are taking part in the Karnataka Women’s Super Division Football League. Kickstart Women’s FC are the defending champions. The other clubs in the fray are Misaka United FC, Parikrama FC, Slamzers Belgaum, Bengaluru Soccer Galaxy, Bengaluru Braves, Indian Football Factory and Maatru Pratishtana FC.
