Shillong, Mar 31: Sawmer blanked Umphyrnai 2-0 in their Shillong Sports Association First Division match at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
Diego A Khyriem (69′) and Banraplang Nongsteng (90′) scored for Sawmer, who were playing their first match of the season. Umphyrnai had already had a match on 26th March, where they drew 1-1 with Lawsohtun.
Incidentally, Sawmer became the first team to score more than one goal in a match so far in this season’s First Division and they thus go to the top of the table on goal difference.
