Shillong, Jul 18: Brazilian attacker João Vitor de Paula Morais, known as Jota, will be playing his football in Shillong Lajong FC colours for 2026-27 after having made the switch from Chanmari FC.
Lajong made the announcement on social media today. He is their second Brazilian signing of the season, coming after defender Arthur Pangaro.
Jota most recently played for Chanmari in the Indian Football League. Before that he was in Slovakia and before that his native Brazil. The 23-year-old featured in all 14 of Chanmari’s matches in their debut season of the IFL and scored three goals with three assists in over 900 minutes on the pitch.
SLFC is set to add more foreigners to its ranks in the coming days, with two Portuguese players being rumoured to be in talks with the club.
