Shillong, Sep 3: The quarterfinal and relegation zone fixtures of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 have been released, with the first matches to take place tomorrow.
The quarterfinals will be played at the SSA Stadium, while the three relegation zone matches will take place at the MFA Ground.
Mawpat and Madan SCC qualified from Group A as the Top 2, Umlyngka and Mawryngkneng from Group B and Lawsohtun and Tynring from Group C. The two best third-placed teams were Sohryngkham from Group C and Smit from Group B. (Get more details and the final points tables here.)
If there is a draw in the quarterfinals after 90 minutes then the match will go directly to a tiebreaker.
Extra time will only be introduced for the semifinals and final, if required. The semis will be held on 14th and 15th September and the final on 19th September. Only the two teams that reach the final will be promoted to the First Division 2027.
In the Relegation Zone will be Lumshyiap from Group A, Mawkriah West from Group B and Jongksha from Group C. They will each play each other once and the best team from this group will avoid relegation, while the worst two will be dropped to the Third Division next season.
