Shillong, Nov 8: Kickboxers from the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA) won seven gold, three silver and three bronze medals at the Indian Open International Kickboxing Tournament in New Delhi recently.
The event ran from 2nd to 6th November and was organised by WAKO India.
In addition, five Meghalaya referees received their international diplomas in tatami and ring sports – Wandashisha Nongkhlaw, Belldona Pakyntein, Ibadarishisha Mukhim, Shaiborlang Lyngdoh Mawphlang, Jezerel Sangma.
The gold medallists were Medariphylla L Nongbri (senior female, U-52kg, K1 Rules), Evangel Pohplet (senior female, U-48kg, K1 Rules), Pynskhem Kshiar (senior male, U-51kg, Low Kick), Banpynkhraw Warshong (junior male, U-48kg, K1 Rules), Thangoulian Manlun (junior male, U-71kg, K1 Rules), Winningstar Lyngdoh (junior male, U-45kg, K1 Rules), Teibok Marbaniang (junior male, U-48kg, K1 Rules).
The three silver medallists were Babit Kharsahnoh (senior male, U-51kg, K1 Rules), Elbring Umbah (senior male, U-51kg, Full Contact), Lumjingsuk Iawphniaw (junior male, U-48kg, Low Kick).
Johny Ryntathiang won two bronze medals (senior male, U-69kg, Light Contact & Kick Light) with the other claimed by Emdor Blah (senior male, U-51kg, Full Contact).
