Shillong, May 2: The General Secretary of the Meghalaya Sport Climbing & Mountaineering Association, Wallambok Lyngdoh, will lead an expedition to Mount Tinchinkhang in Sikkim.

Lyngdoh will lead nine climbers from six states of the North East, including two others from Meghalaya – Ngandarihun Sohshang of Mawlai Nongpdeng and Rilang Dkhar of Umshaken, Ri-Bhoi.

The expedition to the 6,010m mountain in Sikkim is sponsored by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in collaboration with the Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure and Eco-Tourism, Chemchey, Sikkim, which commenced yesterday and will conclude on 21st May.

The other mountaineers on the expedition are Sonam Gyatso Lepcha, Neaha Rai and Radha Khatri of Sikkim, Maro Meto of Arunachal Pradesh, Lalruatdika of Mizoram, Yierhevitso Vakha of Nagaland and Biplab Das of Tripura. Two members who had planned to join from Manipur and Assam had to pull out at the last minute.
