Shillong, May 22: To celebrate the diamond jubilee (60th anniversary) of the Subroto Cup, Jonas Olsson, a Swedish grassroots coach, conducted a one-day seminar for coaches and other interested individuals at Polo Ground here today.
Shillong is one of five Indian cities that were selected for this seminar, with organisers Subroto Society picking the Meghalaya capital on the back of its strong performances in the tournament year on year, especially in the U-17 girls’ category.
Around 80 people attended the seminar, which utilised theory and practical sessions.
Olsson is behind the Supercoach app, which attempts to make it easier for football coaches to help their players excel through a large selection of preset training modules.
Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode have already hosted the seminar, with Guwahati set to hold it on 24th May at the SAI Regional Centre and Kolkata on 26th May at Salt Lake Stadium.
