Shillong, Dec 2: The All India Football Federation’s disciplinary committee has handed an additional one-game suspension to Redeem Tlang of FC Goa for his direct red card in the Indian Super League match against Mumbai City on 26th November.

In his first appearance for the Gaurs, Tlang went in studs up on Mumbai midfielder Hernan Santana towards the end of the first half and was shown a red card by the referee.

The Meghalayan then missed the 1-1 draw against NorthEast United (his former club) and will now miss the 6th December clash with Kerala Blasters after the AIFF body found him guilty of “intentionally aiming to hurt and injure the opponent.”

“While the player (Tlang) has apologised in his reply (to a showcause notice), such intent was completely missing when the opponent player was in pain, according to the committee,” the ISL said in a statement. “The committee concluded that the player committed serious misconduct, thus, imposing a suspension of an additional game, as per the AIFF Disciplinary Code.”
